Let's get to waffeling!!!

For Christmas I received a super duper cool Belgian waffle iron. Not just any waffle iron, but one of those fancy smancy ones that flips over while it cooks. Eh that's no so fancy you say, well it makes two of those deep Belgian style waffles at the same time!!! See told ya it was fancy!!! Anyway I immediately created a new board on Pinterest and started pinning waffle recipes. First I made Belgian waffles for breakfast, from a mix. They came out great. Just like at the hotels Ash said! But today I wanted to try something different that Pillsbury pinned. Don't judge me for looking at Pillsbury pins! Look them up they have some great pins! Anyway they pinned cinnamon roll waffles and of course I wanted to try it. It had mixed reviews but I decided to give it a go, and me and the kids are glad I did!

Super simple just need regular size cinnamon rolls, melted butter, and a waffle iron. You can use nonstick spray but I don't like the residue it leaves on the sides so I only use butter or oil in my waffle iron.

Super simple just need 3 things!

Warm up your waffle iron and grease up the plates! Then you are ready to get to cookin! Smash the cinnamon roll down a bit so it's a little thinner and place a roll in each well cinnamon side down.

Drop those babies in there and let em cook!

Then close the lid and flip that baby over! Repeat the same thing for the other side.  Yes my waffle iron has two sides, that's how I roll! Cook the cinnamon roll waffles for about 3 minutes. I cooked mine on the lowest setting possible. Check them after 2 minutes, you want them still a bit soft. They should be a pretty golden color kinda like me! Or like the picture. Before you do a second batch make sure you re-grease the plates. You don't want the cinnamon to stick to the waffle plates. That would be a mess to clean up and y'all know I don't like cleaning!

Nice golden Nichole color!

Doesn't that look amazing?!?! I wish you could taste them. So warm and delicious all cinnamony! Ok moving on, take them out and plate them up and in the meantime warm up that little cup of frosting in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. Don't forget to take the metal lid off! Y'all laugh but I know some of you personally which is why I'm reminding you! :)

Pour the frosting over your cinnamon roll waffles and you have a little bit of cinnamon heaven! The frosting fills up those little waffle pockets and it's just amazing!

Yummy frosting cinnamony goodness!

See I told ya look at all the cinnamon deliciousness! It just disperses all throughout the waffle and they are fantabulistick! Don't take my word for it try it yourself!! These were a hit in my house. They were super simple to make and were way faster than waiting for them to bake in the oven. I am not sure how they would be with homemade dough since that would be much softer but maybe I will try it over the summer. Yes I said summer I'm not going to lie to my wonderful readers I have no intention of trying that anytime soon! I will however make these again anytime the kids ask, and I suggest you do the same, unless you have started some crazy weight loss plan since it is January, and in that case then you can make them in February!

Go make these right now!

Prague Part 2

I forgot to mention that when you are driving in to the Czech Republic you must get a vignette. It is a little sticker for the window and your wallet that basically pays all the tolls for the highway. Instead of toll booths every few miles you just buy the pass for either a few days or a year.

This post will be mostly all pictures that finish up our time in Prague. I highly recommend going if you can and staying at the Residence Bene if you don't mind roughing it for a few days.

Posing with the guard. They were way more lax than in England!

He cracked the European girls up when he took this selfie.

Look Dad I'm strong, I can hold both the girls!

Oh no I dropped them!!

They had some crazy statues at the castle in Prague.

Prague Part 1

For my birthday weekend we decided to take a road trip to Prague. We booked a little hotel that was in the middle of the Old Town and planned to park the car for the weekend and just wander around the city.  We had a great weekend and took a ton of pictures so this will be split up into 2 blog posts, part 1 and part 2.  On most of our European trips we jam pack sightseeing in so this was one trip where we didn't have an itinerary (gasp) and just planned to hit up a few places that I wanted to see and enjoy the city. I loved loved loved Prague. It was a beautiful city and the Christmas decorations throughout the town were absolutely amazing. Many of the hotels in town were super expensive but with great research we found a cheap but clean hotel within walking distance of everything I wanted to see. We stayed at the Residence Bene and although it wasn't the fanciest hotel we have stayed at it was exactly what the reviews said. It was clean, had free breakfast, secure parking, and in walking distance to everything we wanted. Some reviews said the towels were rough so me being me, brought our own towels so all was good! And those reviews weren't lying I have never felt a towel so rough in my life! But like I said we brought our own so we were good. Now on to the fun part, Prague!

The first night we got in pretty late due to traffic on the autobahn so we checked in to the hotel and then headed to TGIFridays. It was so good. Normally I love to try the local food but I was okay with hitting up some American style restaurants instead of having local goulash or pork knuckle. Although the pork knuckle looked really good! The Czech money is a bit outrageous compared to the dollar and what seems like a ton of money really isn't. We had a 2000 bill but it was really only about 100 dollars. It took a bit to get used to so I made a cheat sheet and kept pulling it out to see how much things really were!

Our second day, we headed to Old Town Square where the Christmas market was and went to see the Astronomical Clock. The clock tells more than the time, it also tells the seasons, and zodiac signs as well as the position of the sun and moon. We then stopped for Starbucks (yumm) and headed on to the Charles Bridge. From there I had the bright idea to walk to the castle instead of taking one of the many trams. Did I mention it was uphill?!?! We finally made our way back to our hotel for a little nap before heading to the Christmas market for the evening. The market was beautiful and we totally enjoyed all the yummy food and drinks they had to offer.

On our last full day we slept in which is something we don't normally get to do on vacation and then headed to the mall. The mall was beautiful and is apparently the glitziest mall in all of the Czech Republic. Needless to say, we only bought stuff from the market, nothing from any of the other shops! We wandered around the area some more and then headed back to the Old Town area for a linner at Hard Rock Cafe which is one of our traveling traditions. After linner we walked back to the Charles bridge to see the views at night and then hung out in the Old Town Square between quaint outdoor heated cafes and the Christmas market it was a wonderful night.

On Monday we got up had breakfast and headed home. It was a great way to kick of our holiday break and we truly had a blast. Prague is a beautiful city that is really indescribable. I hope you enjoy the pictures, we truly enjoyed our trip! Don't forget to check out part 2!

These were super good pastries. We had one that was totally filled with nutella on the inside. Yummo!

The hollow pastry is not fried although it seems like it is, it is grilled over a charcoal grill. Kinda crazy but still yummy!

Astronomical Clock

Our total at Starbucks for 3 drinks. Told you the money was cray cray!
